The Toyota project included the removal of the existing Primus MB 66 washer and the installation of the new MXB 700. The Mb 66 was removed from site by the riggers. The contractor moved in to replace the steam hoses, partitioning as well as epoxy the floor as per the client’s requirements. The initial contractor did not finish the work and the services of another contractor was acquired to finish the floor epoxy.
The above work was completed, and the new unit was rigged in.
Detergents and new pumps were installed and the unit was commissioned. The site was handed over to the client 08/07/2024.
In 1959, the first Toyota model, a Land Cruiser, was exported to South Africa. Fast forward to 2006, when Toyota SA surpassed BMW South Africa, as the country’s largest automobile exporter. In 2014, Toyota had 8,500 employees in South Africa.
